Our vision is an energy system that relies heavily on renewable sources of electricity and fuels to meet our needs for electricity, heating, cooling and transportation. Our current efforts to promote clean sources of electricity are described below:

Areas of focus on renewable fuels include:

Growing the nation’s renewable solar and hydrogen industry

Turning abundant organic “wastes” into renewable energy

Supporting the commercialization and scale-up of next-gen fuel cell back up power systems

Promoting bio-products and chemicals as a growth strategy for modern bio-refineries

Sustainable Communities

Cities and communities are critical to mitigating climate change because collectively they are big enough to matter and small enough to make changes quickly. Our programs are designed to assist communities in different ways with all the elements needed to drive change by:

Advances solar energy deployment though a coordinated effort among organizations and municipalities to build an open and advantageous solar market that provides long-term benefits to communities, and by helping local governments and community institutions get solar projects up and running

Provides sustainability and resiliency planning and technical assistance. Actively participates in networks connecting similar programs in other states (to shorten the learning curve for all)

Coordinating research programmes, which encourage and assist local governments in adopting proven sustainable development policies and practices

Supports energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in Africa
